Association of University Administrators
AUA is the professional association for all higher education managers and administrators, members are informed of current issues and providing opportunities for professional development and sharing of best practice. Networking opportunities through conference, regional activities and, increasingly, electronic networking will ensure that you are never isolated from your colleagues and can share information and expertise.
Department for Education (Northern Ireland)
The Department of Education is responsible for education provision in Northern Ireland at all levels from schools to higher education.
European Community Project Managers' Association
Established in early 2006 as a forum for Project Managers to exchange information and share experiences of issues and challenges relating to co-ordinating and managing FP6 projects.

Higher Education Funding Council for England
The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) promotes and funds high-quality, cost-effective teaching and research in universities and colleges in England.
Higher Education Funding Council for Wales
The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales concerned with the funding of colleges and institutions of higher education in Wales. It also has the power to fund higher education in further education colleges.

Scottish Higher Education Funding Council

The British Academy, established by Royal Charter in 1902, is the national academy for the humanities and the social sciences. It is an independent, self-governing fellowship of some 750 scholars, elected for distinction and achievement in one or more branches of the academic disciplines that make up the humanities and social sciences.
The Joint Costing and Pricing Steering Group
The Joint Costing and Pricing Steering Group was formed in July 1997. It is a representative group, bringing together members from universities and colleges, from the funding bodies for UK higher education and from Universities UK, Standing Conference of Principals, Universities Scotland and Higher Education Wales. The JCPSG's primary objective is to assist and encourage higher education institutions to apply best practice in the costing and pricing of their activities. This will foster the integration of financial and academic considerations, ensuring that decision making is better informed and also that pricing decisions are taken with the benefit of robust full cost data. Whether you are a senior manager leading institutional strategy or if you are working in the field of systems, processes or e-learning, JISC infoNet has resources that can help you improve the support for, and quality of, learning and teaching in your institution. Resources are freely available to institutions and individuals in the further and higher education sectors, with this website the main access route to their services.

Academies and learned societies
The Royal Academy of Engineering brings together over 1200 distinguished engineers who come from all engineering disciplines. Their aim is to promote excellence in engineering for the benefit of the people of the United Kingdom. The Academy assists the development of policy on engineering issues at a national level by formulating policy statements and submitting expert evidence to Parliamentary and Government bodies; supports engineering education from the age of 13 through to Chartered Engineer status; encourages engineering research and closer contacts between the industrial and academic worlds; and promotes the public understanding of engineering through publications, lectures and conferences.

The Association of Commonwealth Universities is a global network of outstanding human and scientific resources, which serves member institutions by advancing international co-operation and understanding in higher education, and by providing a broad range of services and facilities.
