About ARMA's members and the Board of Directors

ARMA has over 1600 individual members, who work in a variety of organisations, including universities, funding bodies, the NHS and independent research institutions. A more detailed profile of our members is also available.

ARMA is coordinated on a day-to-day basis by the Board of Directors, consisting of the Chair, two Deputy Chairs, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Conference Planning and up to three other elected Directors. Members of the Board are elected by postal ballot for a three year term of office, with elections announced in January each year. Any member who is interested in standing for election, or putting themselves forward for possible co-option to the Board is welcome to contact the Chair to discuss this. Short descriptions of the roles of different Board members are available.

There are three committees, one overseeing training activities, one with oversight of broader services to members, and one charged with organising the Annual Conference. Additional Working Groups are set up to consider specific issues, as and when required. If you would be interested in being involved in this way, please contact the relevant Deputy Chair. A number of "Active Members" currently support the Board in various ways - e.g. by presenting a session at training events, helping at conference, organising training venues at their institutions, assisting at courses, web editing, proof reading and refereeing bursary and mentoring applications.  if you would be interested in being involved in this way, please do contact us.
