Membership of ARMA
There are two main forms of membership of ARMA: individual and commercial. We also offer a generous discount scheme for groups of individuals at the same institution. These are all described below.
The normal form of membership is individual membership (formerly called ordinary membership). The annual subscriptions for individuals joining ARMA is currently £63.
Individual membership of ARMA is open to those with a predominantly managerial or administrative involvement in research within any discipline, in both private and public sectors, and of all levels of experience. We are a professional association of individuals, and are strongly committed to individual membership as the norm. Members are able to carry their individual membership with them between employing organisations, and it is not unusual for members to have maintained their membership in three or more posts and/or organisations.
The majority of members have their subscriptions paid by their employers, who view it as a commitment to professional research management and administration and recognise the benefits which membership brings. For those organisations with larger groups of members, we offer discounts for paying for all their members on a single invoice. For organisations with six to nineteen members,who nominate a single contact and pay annual subscriptions on a single invoice, we offer a discount of £5 per member; for groups of twenty or more members, the discount is £10 per person. New members can take advantage of the reduction, provided they join as part of this renewal process in March; we regret that we are unable to offer this reduction to members joining at other times of the year. An individual member going on maternity leave can take maternity leave from her ARMA membership.
We also offer a commercial membership scheme, specifically for commercial organisations whose services may be of interest to individual members and their employers. Commercial membership allows representatives of those organisations to attend our events at the normal rate for members, to receive the newsletter and access areas of the website restricted to members, and brings a discount on advertising and sponsorship opportunities, usually at our events. Currently, commercial membership is £160 per year.
