Maternity Leave

At present, 74.7% of ARMA's individual members are female. It is to be expected that of these 850 or so individuals, several will take maternity leave in any given year.

If you are going on maternity leave, you can also take maternity leave from your ARMA membership. We will rebate your membership fee for the number of months which you are away (at £4.75 per month), and we will change your membership status so that you don't receive membership services (including emails to our discussion lists) during your absence. When you come back, we will re-activate your membership so that you continue with the same membership number, username and password as you had before you left.

If someone is appointed to provide cover for you during your absence, they should not attempt to take over your membership account; instead, they should join as a new member in their own right. Should they move to another position in research management and administration after you return to work, they'll be able to take their personal membership with them.

If you want to take advantage of this system, please contact Simon Kerridge (Membership Secretary), or Rosemary Hatch (Executive Administrator), before you go on leave, letting us know how long you expect to be away, so that we can arrange things for you. Remember to get in touch when you return to work so that we can be sure everything goes smoothly.

And our very best wishes to you and your family!
